Databases

Create a database for your server, and get the details to connect to it.

Feature

The Databases tab appears when your host has databases switched on.

The heading shows how many databases you have used out of your allowance.

Creating one

Click New Database. There is nothing to fill in, because the panel names it and places it for you.

If your host has nowhere to put it, the message asks you to speak to an administrator.

Connecting to it

Each card shows the database name, its address and port, and three rows you can copy: Username, Host and Remote.

Two buttons sit at the foot of a card.

  • Details opens the full connection details. Click the eye icon to show the password.
  • Open opens the database manager in a new tab, already signed in.

Backing up, and the rest

The three-dot menu on a card holds three more actions.

  • Back up now takes a copy of that one database, on its own.
  • Rotate password issues a new password. The old one stops working at once, so update anything that uses it. The new password is shown once, so copy it before the message clears.
  • Delete removes the database, every table in it, and its login. You cannot undo it.

WARNING

Your server backups include a database only when you turn on Include databases as you take one.
